Overview

This Behavioral Health Examiner – South Carolina opportunity offers structured part-time coverage in the central South Carolina region. The clinic is seeking two in-person days per week, specifically Thursdays and Fridays. There may also be flexibility to consolidate the schedule into one full week per month, depending on provider preference and clinic needs.

The role is focused exclusively on VA disability evaluations for Veterans. There is no therapy panel, no medication management, and no ongoing treatment responsibilities. The work centers on conducting thorough behavioral health assessments and completing required documentation within defined timelines.

This position is well suited for a licensed psychologist who prefers end-of-week coverage or who values the option of organizing clinical time into a predictable monthly block.

Position Details

Responsibilities

• Review service treatment records and relevant medical history
• Conduct in-person behavioral health evaluations
• Administer and interpret psychological testing as required
• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
• Provide medical opinions when requested
• Document findings in a secure electronic system
• Submit completed evaluations within required timelines

Qualifications

Required:
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
• Graduate of an APA-accredited doctoral program
• Completion of an APA-accredited internship
• Active, unrestricted state license required (any U.S. state license accepted under contract guidelines)
• Ability to work independently and meet documentation deadlines

Preferred:
• Prior VA or C&P examination experience
