A staffing partner committed to reliability, transparency, and the right clinical fit

Frontera is a healthcare staffing partner built around one core principle: do right by the people who deliver and manage care.

Frontera founders’ story
A timeline about Frontera Search Partners' inception - built on doing right by providers and the facilities that depend on them.
Built on burnout, driven to do staffing
differently
After years in healthcare, Ches and Jody saw firsthand the dysfunction within the staffing industry—high turnover, poor culture, and a numbers-driven approach to recruiting. Those issues didn’t just affect recruiters; they directly impacted how providers were supported and, ultimately, how patients experienced care.
Frontera was founded as a deliberate counter-culture to that model: a people-first, relationship-driven recruiting firm that rejects volume recruiting and brings humanity, honesty, and real partnership back to healthcare staffing.

Building a network of trusted clinicians
Instead of high-volume recruiting, the founders focused on relationships. They built a vetted network of physicians, APPs, allied health professionals, and specialists who shared the same commitment to reliability and quality of care.

Maintaining integrity through
uncertain times
During the unpredictability of COVID, when most staffing firms drastically increased bill rates and pocketed the margin, Frontera chose a different path. Not a single facility saw a bill rate increase while we continued to support and pay our providers, reinforcing the trust and transparency at the core of our model.

Implementing concierge-level support
Frontera introduced dedicated provider liaisons to support our recruiters and elevate the provider experience. They help with scheduling, travel coordination, and day-to-day needs, bringing a concierge level of service modeled after top-tier hospitality and travel brands.

Expanding Connections
In 2023, we created PULSE as an extension of Frontera’s core strength: connecting the right people at the right time and building meaningful relationships across healthcare. PULSE - Professionals Uniting for Learning, Sharing, and Excellence - is a curated networking series designed to bring executives, clinicians, and industry leaders together in a high-class, no-sales-pressure environment.

A partner-first approach that grows
with each facility
Frontera continues to scale while staying true to its founding values: clear communication, honest recruiting, and staffing solutions built around long-term fit. The founding team remains directly involved in operations to ensure every facility receives the consistency and support they expect.

PULSE: Connecting Healthcare Leaders

PULSE was created in 2023 as a way to bring healthcare professionals together without pitches, pressure, or hidden agendas. Built by the Frontera team, PULSE is a curated networking series designed to foster genuine relationships, meaningful conversations, and long-term collaboration across healthcare.
What started as a local Dallas event has grown into a community of executives, clinicians, and industry leaders who value trust, connection, and shared learning.

Giving back through purpose-driven
partnerships
At Frontera, we believe our responsibility extends beyond healthcare staffing. Many of the communities we serve include veterans, military families, and clinicians who have dedicated their lives to supporting others. To honor that commitment, we partner with K9s For Warriors, the nation’s largest provider of trained service dogs for veterans living with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and other service-connected challenges.

Financial support
A portion of our yearly proceeds goes toward sponsoring life-saving service dog training.

Community engagement
Our team participates in initiatives that highlight veteran mental health and long-term recovery.

Awareness and advocacy
We help amplify the mission of K9s For Warriors so more veterans can access the support they deserve.

FAQs about understanding the story, values, and approach behind Frontera Search Partners
What is a healthcare staffing partner?
A healthcare staffing partner helps hospitals, clinics, and healthcare organizations maintain consistent patient coverage by connecting them with qualified clinicians for temporary, recurring, and specialty coverage needs. Unlike a purely transactional vendor, a staffing partner is typically evaluated on communication, fit, and reliability over time.
What types of healthcare organizations work with staffing partners?
Hospitals, outpatient clinics, community health centers, physician groups, and government healthcare programs commonly work with staffing partners when they need flexible coverage, support for growth, or help managing changing patient demand. This matches the types of organizations Frontera highlights across the live page.
How do healthcare organizations compare staffing partners?
Healthcare organizations usually compare staffing partners based on communication, consistency, provider quality, responsiveness, and whether the partner acts like an extension of the internal team. That aligns closely with the facility persona, which values dependable coverage, transparent pricing, minimal handoffs, and a more personalized experience than large enterprise firms often provide.
What should facilities look for in a long-term healthcare staffing relationship?
Facilities typically look for a staffing partner that understands their care environment, communicates clearly, provides continuity through a consistent point of contact, and supports stable coverage over time. For decision-stage buyers, long-term fit matters more than generic promises because the real cost of a bad staffing partner is operational disruption.
How can a staffing partner help reduce coverage gaps without adding more administrative strain?
A strong staffing partner helps reduce coverage gaps by coordinating searches efficiently, improving communication, and aligning clinicians more closely with the facility’s actual needs. The facility persona in your research specifically wants uninterrupted patient care, less burden on internal HR, fewer handoffs, and more dependable support.
How is Frontera positioned differently from large enterprise staffing firms and smaller local agencies?
Frontera positions itself as a middle ground between enterprise-scale staffing firms and boutique agencies: more personalized than high-volume firms, but more scalable and structured than smaller local agencies. That positioning is already reinforced on the live page through its comparison section, founder story, and emphasis on one dedicated account manager, low recruiter turnover, and relationship-driven support.
